About

Maison Bouché was founded in 1920 when Abel Bouché created the first Bouché champagnes from his single hectare of vines, near the border of Épernay and the Premier Cru village of Pierry. His son Pierre succeeded him in 1945, vinifying independently of the négoce and aging wines in oak barrels stored in his attic; in 1960 the family moved into the historic 19th-century cellars at 10 rue du Général de Gaulle in Pierry, still the house's headquarters today. José and Astrid Bouché took over in the 1970s and grew the vineyard to 30 hectares. Nicolas Bouché, great-grandson of the founder and a qualified oenologist, has been Chef de Caves since 2010. The estate today farms 30ha across 74 parcels in 11 villages, mostly Grand Cru and Premier Cru classified, HVE3-certified, with oak-barrel vinification as the house's signature style.
