Bruno Paillard

Bruno Paillard founded his house in 1981 — the last Champagne house to be created in Reims in the twentieth century — after selling his car to fund the first bottles. An iconoclast and perfectionist, Paillard was the first in Champagne to print the disgorgement date on every back label, a practice now widely admired. The house is known for its uncompromising use of first-press juice only, its extraordinary reserve wine library spanning over 25 vintages back to 1985, and its low Extra Brut dosage philosophy across the entire range.
