Caillez Lemaire

Caillez Lemaire is a family wine-growing estate based in Damery, in the Marne Valley, farming 45 parcels across 6.3 hectares within a 6km radius, mainly on the right bank of the Marne around five villages: Hautvillers and Cumières (Premier Cru), Damery, Fleury-la-Rivière, and Vauciennes. The estate has been 100% organic since 2020, Ecocert-certified since August 2023, has used no insecticides since the 1990s and no herbicides since 2014. Base wines are fermented directly in oak barrels rather than only aged there, without filtration or malolactic fermentation, to preserve freshness and aromatic intensity. The family estate dates to 1825; champagne production began with the grandparents of current winemaker Virginie.
