About
Champagne Daniel Gerbaux & Fils is a family estate in Chézy-sur-Marne (Vallée de la Marne) with roots going back to 1901, when Émile Gerbaux began planting the family vineyard. His son Robert, after being taken prisoner of war by the Germans in 1940 and later freed, continued the work, and the estate became one of the first houses in the village to commercialize its own champagne. The tradition was passed to Daniel, and continues today with his son Romain. The vineyard is planted predominantly with Pinot Meunier (70% of the estate's vines) alongside Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, on the estate's characteristic chalky-subsoil hillsides of the Marne valley. The estate holds Haute Valeur Environnementale (HVE) and Viticulture Durable en Champagne certification.
