About

De Saint-Gall is the prestige label of Union Champagne, the Avize-based cooperative founded in 1966 that represents over 2,000 growers farming 1,470 hectares — more Grand Cru land than any other entity in Champagne. With 615 hectares of Grand Cru vineyards, almost entirely in the Côte des Blancs, Union Champagne historically supplied grapes to the great Maisons. The De Saint-Gall range represents the cooperative's finest own-label expression, focused entirely on Chardonnay from the four Grand Cru villages of the Côte des Blancs — Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Avize, Oger and Cramant. The prestige Orpale, aged 12 years on the lees, is among the most underrated prestige cuvées in Champagne.
