A winegrowers' cooperative (Coopérative de Manipulation) founded in 1929 in Passy-Grigny, in the Vallée de la Marne, when Abbé Aimé Caudron gathered the village's winegrowers and financed the purchase of a shared press so they could vinify and sell their own Champagne rather than just sell grapes. Twenty-three founding growers formed the original cooperative; today more than 90 winegrowers farm roughly 130 hectares on the slopes of Passy-Grigny, with Pinot Meunier - the cooperative's signature grape - representing about 80% of the vineyard, alongside Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The Passy-Grigny terroir's suitability for Meunier led the cooperative to specialize in Blanc de Noirs style champagnes built around that variety.
