Egly-Ouriet is one of the most revered grower producers in Champagne, cultivating 12 hectares centred on the Grand Cru village of Ambonnay — arguably the finest Pinot Noir terroir in the entire appellation. Founded by the Egly family and now led by Francis Egly, the domaine practises organic viticulture, ferments entirely in barrel, and ages its wines on lees for far longer than convention demands — sometimes seven years or more. The resulting Champagnes are among the most powerful, complex and age-worthy in the region, inspiring comparisons to the great wines of Burgundy.
