A Grand Cru estate based in Avize, farmed by the Bonville family across several of the Côte des Blancs' most prized chalk terroirs. Franck Bonville produces exclusively Blanc de Blancs — 100% Chardonnay from Avize, Oger and Cramant Grand Cru vineyards. The wines are characterised by crystalline precision, lemon-zest freshness, and a chalky mineral backbone that speaks directly of the deep Belemnite chalk beneath the vines. From the House
Our Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru 2018 is now available after six years on lees. The 2018 vintage brought exceptional ripeness to our Avize and Cramant parcels — warmth and generosity unusual for pure Chardonnay, but balanced by the deep chalk minerality that is the foundation of all our wines.
Our Extra Brut Blanc de Blancs alongside a grilled Dover sole with brown butter and capers is one of the great Champagne pairings — the wine's crystalline Chardonnay fruit and racy acidity cut through the butter precisely, while the mineral finish amplifies the sea character of the fish.
Our three Grand Cru villages — Avize, Oger and Cramant — each ripen at slightly different times, and we always harvest them in that order. In 2023 the sequence was compressed to just five days between first and last picking, the tightest spread we have seen in a decade.
