Legret et Fils
Talus Saint Prix · Côte des Sézanne
About
Champagne Legret & Fils traces its family winegrowing roots to 1920 in Talus-Saint-Prix, Côte de Sézanne. The house itself, 'Champagne Jean-Pierre Legret,' was founded in 1965 by the third generation as a Récoltant-Manipulant. In 1986, father and son Alain Legret expanded the range with new cuvées, and in 2006 the estate passed to Alain Legret (4th generation), who has pursued a consistently biodynamic approach. All Champagne Legret & Fils cuvées received official vegan certification in 2016, and the estate has held the French TERRA VITIS environmental certification since 2017. The roughly 5-hectare estate is spread across Talus-Saint-Prix (south-facing, clay-loess soils suited to red varieties) and the neighbouring Sézanne/Barbonne-Fayel area (light, chalky soils suited to Chardonnay), with an overall varietal mix of 40% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir, and 30% Pinot Meunier.
