Champagne Leroy-Meirhaeghe is a family estate that has been established in Montgueux, at 'La Grange au Rez,' for four generations. Montgueux is a chalky hillside near Troyes in the Aube, often described as an island of Côte des Blancs-like terroir within the wider Champagne landscape. The house was built up by Marie and Lucien, then passed to Marius and Jeannine; in 1980 François took over development of the vineyard and renovation of the estate alongside his wife Marie-Thérèse. Today Gabrielle, the youngest of the family, runs the house. Visitors can tour the family's exhibition room of period winemaking tools and machinery at the Montgueux estate.
