About

Salon is the rarest and most singular Champagne house in existence — a producer of one wine, from one village, one grape variety, declared in one vintage at a time, and only in exceptional years. Founded by Eugène-Aimé Salon in 1911, the house sources its Chardonnay exclusively from twenty plots in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, the most celebrated Grand Cru village of the Côte des Blancs. Salon is declared on average only three times per decade — just 45 vintages have been released since 1905. The wine ages for a minimum of eight years on the lees before release, and in years when no Salon is declared, the grapes pass to sister house Delamotte. Among collectors and connoisseurs, Salon is considered one of the greatest Champagnes ever made.
