About
One of Champagne's last major independent Grand Marque houses, Taittinger has been family-owned since 1932 and remains under the stewardship of the founding family. Based in Reims, the house is renowned for its Chardonnay-dominant style — elegant, refined and built for cellaring. Its prestige cuvée, Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs, is produced solely from Grand Cru Chardonnay in the Côte des Blancs and is one of the region's most revered and age-worthy wines.

Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs 2013 is now available. Produced exclusively from Grand Cru Chardonnay in the Côte des Blancs, this is one of the finest recent vintages for the cuvée — a decade of lees ageing has developed extraordinary complexity while retaining the crystalline precision that is the hallmark of Comtes.
Comtes de Champagne is the definitive Champagne for caviar — the wine's mineral depth and fine persistent bead amplify the ocean character of Oscietra, while its Chardonnay precision keeps the palate fresh. Serve the Champagne at 10°C and the caviar directly from ice.
Taittinger's Chardonnay-dominant style reflects where we own vineyards. Our largest single holding is the 4.5-hectare walled Château de la Marquette in Reims, planted with Chardonnay. Our Côte des Blancs Grand Cru parcels in Avize and Le Mesnil form the backbone of Comtes de Champagne.
